Please Leave When It's Too Much

An experimental poetry-based performance exploring the complexities of AI, care, consent, and emotional endurance.

Please Leave When It's Too Much is a performance where you can privately choose whether you want a heartwarming or heartwrenching experience.

Please Leave When It’s Too Much is not interactive theatre and not a group decision-making experience. The script and performance on stage does not change. What changes is your personal and private choice of when the performance ends for you and the emotional journey of your choice.

Premieres the Hamilton Fringe Festival in July 2026.

ANONYMOUS LOTTERY
CASTING NOW UNTIL MARCH 14TH AT 10AM

Click here to enter your name.

To challenge traditional notions of casting and create open opportunities, performers will be cast via anonymous draw.

No headshots, no auditions, no previous experience.
All participants must be 18+.

On March 14th at 11am, I will randomly select the performers for the three main characters.

If you are selected, you will be notified and sent a copy of the script to review. We can also arrange a short meeting to get to know each other.

If you decide not to participate (no worries!), I will continue to draw names to cast the characters.

On the casting entry form, you can apply for any or all of the characters:

Character 1
3 minute solo poetry-based performance; can be delivered like a speech - memorization is optional (we can come up with creative & accessible ways for for you to perform on stage without too much stress - cue hards, headphones, reading from a screen, etc)

Character 2
2 minute pre-recorded video performance + on-stage scene with no speaking. Pre-recorded video performance can be done in segments with little to no memorization requirements.

Character 3
2 minute solo poetry-based performance; this character requires some memorization; performance will also require expressive body movements - no previous dance or physical performance skills required, only a willingness to move on stage to convey emotion. This will also require wearing a VR headset during the performance.

Rehearsals: June and July (virtual and in-person)
Performances: Between July 16-26th
Honorarium: $200 + 10% of ticket sale revenue
